Challenge
When Ex-Mil Recruitment began working with Saia Creative a few years ago, they were struggling to get the results they needed from their marketing. They didn’t have a solid marketing strategy, their efforts were not very consistent and their approach not in line with the latest best practices.
While they were still managing to engage in some marketing activities, their results were not as impactful for their level of business. So they decided to hire an agency to work on their marketing strategy, create stronger marketing assets and help them run key campaigns.

Solution
As Saia Creative stepped in as a fractional marketing team for Ex-Mil Recruitment, we took over all marketing efforts and worked on an overarching strategy for the company.
One of the first things Saia Creative worked on was Ex-Mil’s marketing collaterals, specifically a candidate and a client guide (two 50-page booklets) so that the team could leverage those assets straightaway, while we worked to implement the strategy and put in place strong marketing foundations.

Based on our research of their niche, as well as analysis of their business, we decided to focus on two core things:
1) modernising and cleaning up their blog before creating a specific content strategy
2) completely reshaping their email marketing by launching segmented newsletters (both for their existing client and candidate lists) and creating a targeted email sequence the sales team could use for cold outreach.

The power of conversation
We also thought of producing and launching an Ex-Mil Recruitment podcast where Saia Creative’s Director, Rosie Di Lecce, would take on the role of host and interviewed various ex-military personnel about their advice and experience transitioning into other careers.
The idea behind the podcast was to have a further source of content to leverage for social media, email and blog, as well as to establish Ex-Mil Recruitment’s brand as the go-to agency within its industry, especially as no other competitor had resourced to such activity.
